National Fried Chicken Day

Date When Celebrated : This holiday is always held on July 6

National Fried Chicken Day is day to enjoy crisp and tasty, finger licking good fried chicken.

Fried chicken is one of America's favorite meals. Sure, we all know that fried foods are not good for us. But, fried chicken tastes ohhhhh so good. We just can't resist having it on a regular basis.

There's just one thing you need to do celebrate this day: Eat some fried chicken. You can have it for lunch, dinner or cold leftovers as a snack. Better still, have it for lunch, dinner, AND for a snack.

Chicken Trivia:
  • When it was first cooked and served, Fried chicken was a sign of wealth.
  • The chicken came before the egg. At least, we're pretty sure it did.
  • There are 26 people in the U.S. listed on whitepages.com with the last name "Chicken". None have the first name "Fried".
  • The fear of chickens is called Alektorophobia.
  • Modern domesticated chickens are descendants of the red jungle fowl of India and Southeast.
  • More than half of all chicken entrees ordered in restaurants are for fried chicken.
  • KFC was first known as "Sanders Court and Buffet".
  • Chickens were originally domesticated and bred for cockfighting, not for food.
  • Waste made by a chicken in its lifetime can make enough electricity to run a 100 watt bulb for five hours!

Today's Cluckle (That's right.... Cluckle!) " Why did the chicken cross the playground? ...To get to the other slide!
Starts: Jul 06Ends: Jul 06Time: All Day
